How We Work at Meng Ruolan

1: Design：We look at what you need and where you’re selling. Then we check if the style and structure can actually be made. No point designing something that won’t work in production. This step gets everything ready for later.

2: Pattern & Sample：Our pattern makers draft it and sew the sample. If the fit is off or the shape looks wrong, we fix it. Dimensions and fabric quality need to be right at this stage. If they aren’t, the bulk order will run into trouble.

3: Fabric：We pick the fabric and trims. It needs to match the style and fit the budget. Everything has to meet export standards. Changing fabric later is a pain and costs extra.

4: Production：Once the sample is approved, we start cutting, sewing, pressing, and packing. All of it happens in our factory. We keep an eye on quality and delivery time. That’s how we handle wholesale orders over the long term.

5: QC：We check semi finished and finished pieces against the size chart. We look at the stitching and how it looks overall. Bad ones don’t go out.

For a gathered cup crop top, choosing linen only by colour can lead to a different result from the reference. The cup fabric needs to gather along the lower edge, while the bodice panels need enough body to hold the agreed shape.

Our sourcing team can look for linen close to your swatch, or use material from your nominated supplier. You can compare the proposed linen fabrics during sample development rather than commit to one from photographs alone.

Ivory raises another question: coverage. For a 100% linen crop top, we can discuss lining the full bodice or adding support only where needed — the choice comes down to your fabric and the finish you want inside.

A softer fabric may sit differently at the neckline and hem. If the material changes after the first sample, we'll go back over the pattern together before confirming the original construction can stay.

Developing Your Brand’s Version

MRL Apparel has its own design and sample rooms side by side, so pattern work and sewing get reviewed together as things move along. For private label crop top production, we lock in the bust, underbust and waist measurements on the sample before grading — tie length and zipper position get settled at the same stage.

To finish the quotation we need the full quantity breakdown: colours, sizes and units for each. And if this top is part of a matching linen collection, send over the other designs too — that way we can sort out fabric sourcing for the whole group while quoting each style on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you quote different lining options before we choose one?

Yes. We can compare available lining materials and the cost of the proposed construction. The sample then lets you assess the coverage, feel and inside finish before approving the option.

Does this top already include boning or padded cups?

These have not been confirmed for MRL-1367. If your design requires either, tell us before sampling so we can review the construction and include it in the quotation.

Can we keep the same design but use a heavier linen?

We can review it, but the cup gathers and narrow ties may need a different sewing approach. A fabric swatch helps us assess the change before making the sample.
