What Goes Into Your Quote
Those long, topstitched panels aren't decoration — they're the whole identity of this panelled A-line midi skirt. And they change how we price it. When you ask for a quote, give us the finished length and the hem width together with your size range. Reason is simple: these measurements decide how much fabric each panel eats.
Here's where brands sometimes slip up. Quoting off a small base size only, and then the panels widen a lot towards the hem, means the bigger sizes need way more material than the estimate allowed for. Your size large isn't your size small plus a bit. On this style, the difference is real.
Pockets belong in the costing conversation too, by the way. Tell us the opening shape, how deep they go, where they sit. That's not us being fussy — it's how we price the construction you actually want, instead of a simpler skirt that happens to look the same from the front.
On fabric: the reference we're working from is 42% TENCEL™, 28% linen, 30% cotton. If you have a target cost per garment in mind, send it over with your expected quantity. Then we can sit down and talk honestly about whether this material and this construction can hit your budget — or what we'd adjust if they can't.
Last thing, because it surprises people. A cheaper fabric doesn't automatically give you a cheaper garment. Usable width matters. Where the panels land on the marker matters. How much of each size is in your order matters. All of that moves the number.

Keep the Details That Matter
This midi skirt with back zipper — first question we'd ask: is that zipper visible on purpose? Some designs make it a feature, exposed and part of the look. Others just need it to disappear into the seam. Which one is yours? It matters, because swapping the closure changes how the back looks and how much sewing work sits around the waist.
The panel stitching is the same story. If those lines carry the collection's identity, say so in the brief when you're comparing quotations. Otherwise you might get two prices that look comparable but actually cover completely different amounts of sewing.
And tell us straight which details are locked and which ones you're flexible on. That way we can take any proposed changes — a revised material, a different construction — and hold them up against your brief before production starts, not after.
One thing you don't have to do: strip the skirt down just to chase a lower number. Removing pockets or shortening the length purely to get another price usually costs you the design you wanted in the first place. Start from the original specification. If the first quotation lands outside your budget, then talk through changes one by one.
Planning More Than One Colour
Ordering this skirt in three colours instead of one? Talk to us before we quote.
As a women's skirt manufacturer, MRL Apparel would rather see your full colour and size breakdown upfront — because here's the thing: some fabrics come with supplier minimums. Split your quantity across several colours and the purchasing math changes completely. Sometimes it works in your favour. Sometimes a colour you loved has to go.
Send the intended delivery date along with that breakdown too. Material availability on one side, our production schedule on the other — those two have to be looked at together before anyone agrees a delivery arrangement. Promise you a date before checking both, and somebody ends up disappointed.
Yes. Include your intended length, size range, order quantity and any changes to the reference; we can discuss the missing measurements and construction details needed for an accurate quotation.
A concealed zipper can be considered during development. It changes the visible back detail, so the proposed zipper and its installation should be assessed together in the sample.
We would check the current fabric and trim availability, quantity and specifications before quoting again. Keeping the original sample and order details helps identify whether the new batch involves any changes.
